Each player rolls their scoring dice. The player with the higher number, becomes the Home Team and will start with possession of the Event Die. If there’s a tie, continue rolling until a winner is determined.
-
In the event both teams have the same Matchup Score, Shoot a Free Throw worth 1pt. Shooting a Free throw is like any other shot in the game; first look at the respective Offensive and Defensive Player abilities for FT. Next, each team rolls the Scoring Dice and calculate the Matchup Score. If the Offense has the higher score, add 1pt to the Game Score. If the Defense has the higher score, the Free Throw is missed, change possession of the Event Die. If there’s a tie, shoot another Free Throw.
-
No. If you receive possession of the event die because of your opponents turnover, your next roll is your offensive turn. On the next possession, you will be back on defense.
-
After all Player Cards have been used, reset your hand by picking up the entire discard pile (excluding any Game Impact Cards that have reached maximum use). You may now use all cards again in any order.
-
You may have up to 3 Game Impact Cards in your hand. We recommend 1 Game Impact Card for games with a Target Score of 11, 2 Game Impact Cards for games with a Target Score of 15, and 3 Game Impact Cards for games played to 21. However, you and your opponent can agree on the number of cards to use at the start of the game.
-
Game Impact Cards may only be used AFTER the matchup has been Set. The team on offensive goes first, and can optionally play an Offensive Game Impact Card or pass. Once that choice is made, the Defense has the option to play a Defensive Game Impact Card.
-
Typical Game durations range from 10 minutes (games played to 11) to 20 minutes (games played to 21). The duration of the game is impacted by the quality of the matchups and strategies employed by each team.
